Where have I been???

Amber Alert!

For those of you who are wondering where I've been..we had some changes to our family size recently and we are all just trying to adjust and get settled :) I promise, we will be uploading some new videos and I will be writing my blogs again very soon! 

Please don't leave us.. We won't be gone for long..thanks :)  

Traffic is so annoying!

Today I had to drive about 35 miles each way to the VA hospital for a doctor appointment. 

I gave myself 1 hour to make it there and FAILED! 

The traffic here in San Diego is completely out of control!

I'm sure traffic sucks anywhere you go, but I usually do not have to deal with it, except when I have a doctor appt. 

I always get there late, feeling as though I am going to 

have a panic attack.. 

So..I get there 15 minutes late, but at least I make it, right??

Yeah, my appointment was at 9:00 am, so I checked in at 9:15 and sat down in the ONLY seat left in the waiting room, conveniently squeezed tightly between two older men, (who by the way were very sweet and funny).. 

At 10:30, they were calling back the 8:30 appointments..

YES, REALLY!!  

I pretty much knew that my day was shot at that point..but I waited, since this was a VERY important appointment..

and there were NO changes..ended up being in and out in 

10 minutes..WAAAAAAAAAAAA!

Back to the traffic.. 

people really truly are not that bright.. 

Like the lady in front of me who is just cruisin along, but stops to let every single solitary car come into our lane..

yeah, it was a nice gesture for the first 15 cars, after that..

not so much! 

(She got a "friendly" honk from the crazy annoyed 

lady behind her)..

Or how about the lady who wanted to merge  

(merging means that you keep moving and gently blend into the normal flow of traffic)..

it does NOT mean that you come to a stop with your 

blinker on, and wait..

then when some crazy annoyed lady comes up and waves you in and you hesitate and slowly scoot over making the whole lane come to a complete stop..

who's the idiot that decided to let her in? 

 Seriously, you know what they say.. Everyone going faster than you is a maniac, while everyone slower than you is an idiot! 

How is the traffic in your neck of the woods? 

Any suggestions on getting through said traffic without have a anxiety attack? 

I feel for all of you who have to sit in that every single day..

i'd rather, well, pretty much rather do ANYTHING than 

deal with that!     

Tumbling Class!

Today the kids tried their first tumbling class! They loved it!

The gymnastics academy allows the kids to take trial classes at first to see if they like it, so this week Katie will also be trying a gymnastics class and Jason will be joining a hip hop class! 

It is so exciting and they are LOVING it!!

  

Animal Abuse Commercials! Ugh!

Has anyone else noticed that every other commercial is about animal abuse? 

Some sad sad song, with pictures of poor abused animals flashing the screen,

 their big sad eyes just begging you to take them home.. It is OUT OF CONTROL! 

They've always had these commercials on TV, but lately it seems they are on at least 

once per 2 min commercial session.. 

I scurry around to find the remote, which has fallen between the cushions, knocking over 

everything in its path, saying LA LA LA LA loudly so i don't hear the heartbreaking music.. 

What in the world is going on? 

Now, don't get me wrong, I feel for these animals, and animal cruelty is an abomination for sure..

However, do we need to be reminded of it every 15 minutes??

Could you imagine if they put abused or neglected children on your TV screen every 15 minutes? 

Thank God for fast forward.. and mute.. 

Now you may resume your normal TV watching session..had to get that off my chest!

Camping Trip!!

Camping Trip!

We were all feeling slightly better and I didn't want the kids Christmas break to be one completely in the house..so.... I surprised them with a quicky camping trip!

I went down and picked up our motorhome and they were so excited! I began to clean it up to load it, and as I opened the drawers, we had a STOWAWAY!!

He left his markings all over the drawers, the hand towels, and i had to empty everything and disinfect like crazy!! Now, keep in mind, i didn't see him until the next morning when he was chillin on the sticky pad i put out with some PB on it.. Gotcha! He did NOT go camping with us! (thank God!)

So, i got everything cleaned out and replaced everything with new..good times, and we were set to go!

The next morning we got up and headed out.. The kids were so thrilled to be getting outta the house and into the wilderness..so was I!

We rode bikes, we played at playgrounds, we watched movies, we ate outside, we got to catch up with some old friends..it was awesome!

 We played our new game Headbandz, that we got for Christmas!

       The kids rode miles on their bikes, while I scooted!

We had a wonderful couple of days, and although there is no place like home..we can't wait to get back out there!!

Christmas Colds!

The cold season has hit our house!! My son was sick from Christmas Eve through Christmas and the day after, so I sent him to Grandma's to keep the rest of us from catching it..FAIL, he is now feeling better and the rest of us are sick :( 

I was thinking back through the last year, and realized that none of us have been really sick at all this whole calendar year.. Which is really a miracle, since everyone attends public school, church, etc.. 

But as they say, when it rains, it pours..

It's mostly just fevers and coughs, so it could be much worse, so it is kind of a blessing..

How was everyones Christmas?? Did you get everything you wanted? The kids got spoiled, by everyone!

It was so nice to spend time with the family, very very very loud this year, but still fun!

Merry Christmas Eve!

I wanted to wish everyone a Very Merry Christmas!

Tomorrow is Christmas Eve and the kids could barely contain themselves all day!

When I look back at my childhood, I remember Christmas being the BEST time of the year EVERY year! 

The anticipation, the decorations, the cookies, Santa, family and friends, Christmas cards..everything was so fun!

I love that I now get to share it with my little ones, and I am so blessed that my kids know the true meaning of Christmas at such a young age..

Now don't get me wrong, they are still dying to know what is under the tree, and presents are very important..but they also truly value the time spent with loved ones, and that makes my heart happy..

 My babies made me about a million things at school, and are very anxious for me to open even more on Christmas.

      I am so blessed to have such a large, close family and I am so thankful that God chose me to raise these amazing angels..
